Precision Staffing is seeking a skilled Tool Designer Engineer with expertise in designing complex dies, tools, gauges, jigs, and fixtures. The Tool Designer Engineer will study part prints and process sheets, ensuring tool designs align with machine limitations and production specifications for maximum efficiency and cost-effectiveness. This role requires strong 3D visualization skills, proficiency in Siemens NX, and a solid understanding of tool design principles.
Key Responsibilities for Tool Designer Engineer:
- Design effective tooling, keeping cost and timing commitments in mind to meet project and customer needs.
- Interpret parts prints and operation sheets to develop practical tooling solutions.
- Utilize 3D Graphics and computer-aided design software (Siemens NX) to create and update designs.
- Conduct research and implement innovative solutions for complex tooling projects.
- Maintain BOMs, part numbers, prints, and other technical documentation.
- Participate in design reviews and evaluate tooling designs for manufacturability.
Qualifications for Tool Designer Engineer:
- Education: B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent preferred; significant relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in tool design, focusing on tool-holding fixtures.
- Proficiency in Siemens NX, with knowledge of GD&T dimensioning and SPC.
- Strong skills in math and geometry, including probability, trigonometry, and spatial reasoning.
- Must be a U.S. person as defined by ITAR regulations and able to communicate effectively in English.
