We are seeking an experienced Press Operator to join our team and contribute to the production of high-quality printed materials. Working alongside the Press Feeder, you will ensure customer and company expectations are met efficiently and accurately using one of several large printing presses. This role requires expertise in running 6-color presses with aqueous coating, with Heidelberg Press experience preferred.

Key Responsibilities for Press Operator:

• Operate and manage a 6-color press with aqueous coating to produce high-quality prints.
• Achieve and maintain proper registration, ink/water balance, and color consistency throughout each job.
• Use LAB values and image control via color scanning devices to ensure color accuracy.
• Understand and manage dot gain, proper trap, inks, coatings, and their compatibility with substrates.
• Set up press efficiently using JDF files and CPC 2000 presets.
• Maintain accurate and detailed daily records for data collection.
• Follow company policies, ISO Quality Procedures, Work Instructions, and safety guidelines.
• Assist in training new and temporary employees.
• Operate motorized pallet jacks and/or forklifts as required.

Required Skills and Competencies for Press Operator:

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience operating a 6-color press with aqueous coating (Heidelberg experience preferred).
• Strong attention to detail with an excellent eye for color.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Working knowledge of plate curves, dot gain, and print-specific color adjustments.
• Familiarity with the Alcolor Water System, Vario Roller Hickey Picking System, and Technotrans Cooling and Water System.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly and up to 75 lbs. occasionally.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Trade experience is a plus.
• Basic computer skills; knowledge of PSI is a plus.
• Forklift certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
