Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Travel PCU/Stepdown RN to join our dynamic team for travel assignments across the country. This is an exciting opportunity to gain valuable experience in different healthcare settings while making a meaningful impact on patient care.
**Current available locations include the Ohio, Kentucky, Virginia, and Nebraska regions.**
Unit Specific Details
- Cardiac Medical Stepdown Unit
- No Local Travelers
- Must be proficient in lab draws-no phlebotomist
- May float to ICU for SD holds, med surg, and ED for SD and lower holds
- Required to work every other weekend and every other major holiday.
- 3x12s, Nights
- Patient Population: Adults(18-64 years) and Geriatrics (65 years and older). SD, cardiac, surgical, renal, End stage respiratory, continuous BiPAP.
- Skill Sets: Cardiac drips and titrations, BiPAP, insulin drips, cardiac rhythmEquipment: Alaris pumps, BiPAP, PCA, GlucoStabilizer, bedside cardiac monitor, Hoyer and Sara Stedy lifts*Ratios are never guaranteed but what the unit attempts to achieve with normal staffing. Ratios are subject to change based on staffing.
- Scrubs: Navy blue, white, or any combination of the two colors

Requirements
- 1 year of RN experience
- Current RN license in Virginia or covered by compact
- BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required
- CCRN Critical Care Registered Nurse (preferred)
- PCCN Progressive Care Certified Nurse (preferred)
- 6 months RN experience in an acute care hospital setting (preferred)
- EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) (preferred)
- Critical Care Course (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Coordinates, provides, and directs patient teaching activities and coordinates the care provided by health team members.
- Conducts initial and ongoing patient assessment, analyzes assessment data, creates a plan of care, implements treatment, and evaluates treatment effectiveness
- Administers medications in a safe manner consistent with the State of Practice and Facility policies and procedures.
- Serves as point of contact for patient's care coordination throughout hospital departments and serves as a point of care with care coordination and family members or caregivers.
- Clinically manages patients with multi-system organ failure and/or multisystem trauma.
- Using the AACN Synergy Model, restores, supports, promotes, rehabilitates, or palliates to maintain the physiologic, psychologic, and psychosocial stability of patients across the lifespan.
