Job Title: Industrial Mechanic / Equipment Painter Job Summary:
Hours: Monday-Friday 7 am to 3:30 pm
Our Client is seeking a skilled and motivated Industrial Mechanic / Equipment Painter to join our team. This position is responsible for the painting, assembly, and mechanical preparation of new industrial equipment and machinery. The role ensures equipment operates efficiently and is properly prepared, coated, and finished to meet quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities Mechanical Duties
- Inspect, build, and assemble industrial machinery and equipment
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical systems
- Disassemble and reassemble machinery components
- Install parts such as bearings, seals, motors, gear reducers, and pneumatic components
- Interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and component manuals
Painting & Surface Preparation Duties
- Prepare surfaces for painting (cleaning, sanding, grinding, masking)
- Mix paints and coatings according to manufacturer specifications
- Apply industrial coatings using spray equipment and spray guns
- Inspect finished surfaces to ensure quality standards are met
- Perform touch-ups and refinishing work as required
- Ensure proper curing and drying procedures are followed
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all workplace safety regulations and company policies
- Properly use personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Safely handle hazardous materials and chemicals
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
QualificationsEducation & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Technical certification or apprenticeship in industrial mechanics preferred
- 2–5 years of experience in industrial equipment manufacturing or related field
- Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems preferred
Skills & Competencies
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of industrial coating and surface preparation techniques
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints
- Familiarity with spray painting equipment and tools
- Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and climb for extended periods
- Comfortable working in industrial environments (noise, dust, fumes)
Work Environment
- Industrial workshop or manufacturing facility setting
- May require occasional overtime or shift work
