Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, operate, and maintain manual lathes and mills for production runs.
- Perform First Article Inspections to ensure compliance with blueprint specifications and tolerances.
- Read and interpret complex blueprints, drawings, and work instructions.
- Apply knowledge of feeds, speeds, and cutter selection for optimal machining results.
- Use personal measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, parallels, gauges, etc.) for accurate inspection and verification.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Perform preventative and routine maintenance on equipment.
- Collaborate with team members while also working independently to complete projects.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience operating manual lathes and mills in a toolroom or job shop environment.
- Ability to perform part and tool setups independently (machine operators need not apply).
- Strong math and logical reasoning skills.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain high-quality standards with attention to detail.
- Must provide and use basic measuring tools.
Preferred Equipment Experience:
- Manual Mills: Bridgeport / ProtoTrak
- Manual Lathes: Any brand manual lathe
- Familiarity with Mazak or Doosan machines is a plus.
