Production Supervisor - Direct Hire
We are seeking ahands-on Production Supervisor to lead and mentor production associates on the manufacturing floor. This position plays a vital role in ensuring efficient daily operations, maintaining quality and safety standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, this role is one level below plant leadership and is ideal for someone with food or ingredient manufacturing experience, particularly in an FDA-regulated and SQF-certified facility.
Key Responsibilities of the Production Supervisor:
- Supervise, mentor, and coach production employees with a focus on team development and accountability.
- Assign and prioritize daily work tasks, monitor productivity, and manage shift schedules.
- Provide training and support to ensure high performance and adherence to procedures.
- Monitor production processes and equipment to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
- Evaluate and improve processes to meet quality, safety, and productivity targets.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of all production paperwork (records, inventory logs, sanitation reports, processing charts, etc.).
- Enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), environmental sanitation standards, and food safety protocols.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, FDA, and company safety policies.
- Support the monitoring of Critical Control Points (CCPs) and compliance with HACCP and SQF programs.
- Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance product quality, efficiency, and employee engagement.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to align goals and share best practices.
- Promote a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Qualifications of the Production Supervisor:
- 3+ years of experience in a supervisory role in a manufacturing environment (preferably food or ingredients).
- Strong people management and leadership skills.
- Hands-on approach with the ability to work closely with production teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Food Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in an FDA-regulated plant; SQF certification is a plus.
- Lean Manufacturing Certification and a proven track record of implementing continuous improvement strategies.
