Job Responsibilities:
As a Machine Tool Mechanic, you’ll perform a variety of tasks to service, repair, and operate CNC machine tools, including:
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues on CNC equipment
- Disassemble, repair, and rebuild machine tool components
- Perform alignment and leveling of machines
- Travel to customer sites to install and service equipment
- Organize, tag, and mark components for reassembly
- Maintain accurate documentation of activities and expenses
- Conduct preventative maintenance to minimize downtime
- Train other team members to promote professional growth
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in CNC machine tool field service
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, components, and tools
- Advanced troubleshooting skills and ability to use test equipment
- Intermediate computer skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Ability to travel up to 30% for on-site customer support
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with electronic circuitry repairs
- Familiarity with machine tool scraping and fitting (not mandatory but highly valued)
- Knowledge of multiple CNC control systems
