Job Summary:
Precision Staffing is seeking a detail-oriented and safety-conscious Slitter Operator to join our production team. The Slitter Operator is responsible for producing high-quality thermal transfer ribbons according to specifications, ensuring that each run aligns with production plans and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret production specifications and bills of materials
- Set up slitting machines including installing jumbos, threading film, setting blades, and programming length, speed, and tension
- Perform first-run quality checks using durometers and calipers
- Troubleshoot basic machine issues and recover from film breaks
- Perform periodic quality checks and maintain quality records
- Operate both manual and automated machines depending on experience level
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Basic math skills (add, subtract, divide, compute ratios)
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks with consistency
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 35 lbs
- Comfortable using calipers, durometers, and material handling equipment
