We are seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for performing laboratory tests to analyze material composition and failure modes for quality control, process evaluation, customer returns, and product development.
Position Details:
- Shift: First shift (7:00 AM - 3:00 PM)
- Pay Rate: $24 per hour
- Qualities: Trainable, dependable, strong attendance, experience with Excel and report generation
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct laboratory testing for parts, components, and materials
- Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of lab equipment
- Perform various tests including dimensional, performance, fatigue, corrosion, and microstructure analysis
- Accurately record test results on standardized forms
- Follow test procedures and document performance data, highlighting any deviations
- Evaluate failed (fractured) samples and provide root cause analysis
- Collaborate with engineers on critical and specialized test projects
- Set up, adjust, and operate lab equipment and instruments
Requirements:
- Associate’s degree in a technical field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an automotive lab environment
- Hands-on experience with testing automotive materials and coatings
- Knowledge of testing methods, tools, and techniques for automotive components
- Strong communication and multitasking skills
- Ability to work independently and manage task reprioritization to meet project deadlines
