ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The below statements are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed by this position. This is not a complete listing of all responsibilities, duties and/or skills required.

Act as the primary administrator of  FMLA and Tuition advancement programs;

Conduct employee onboarding and help plan training & development;

Assist with the administration of employee benefits programs (health/dental/vision/life insurance and retirement plans, unemployment, coordinate the sick leave bonus program, etc.);

Primary Coordinator of recruiting program, including searching resume databases for prospective candidates; conduct initial review of resumes; schedule all interviews; conduct interviews; schedule and administer all testing for job applicants; check credentials and references for all selected applicants, and schedule follow-up interviews with agency supervisors, managers and directors; coordinate interviewing, testing, and hiring processes to ensure adherence to all equal employment opportunity (EEO) legislation, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and other government compliance requirements;

Manage a variety of assignments simultaneously, and maintain extensive personal and telephone contact with applicants and staff at all levels within the organization;

Ensure accuracy and completion of various personnel/position changes (e.g. new hires, promotions, transfers, salary increases, etc.);

Provide assistance and information to employees, applicants and other agencies on Human Resources functions, policies activities and services;

Prepare and type correspondence, notes, reports, forms, memoranda, bulletins and other documents required in such Human Resources transactions as recruitment, benefits, unemployment, transfers, promotions, compensation and separations etc.;

Set up and maintain personnel records and files including necessary information on medical benefits, retirement, workers’ compensation, etc.; update and track confidential files/information ensuring accuracy and completeness. Maintain and update manual and automated filing systems to store and efficiently track records/information.

Coordinate and provide assistance with research and/or staff studies for programs or projects as requested.

Prioritize and track time sensitive assignments to ensure timely completion;

Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each competency satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

In-depth knowledge of the Family Medical Leave Act and corresponding administrative rules and regulations;

Knowledge of commonly-used Human Resources concepts, practices, and procedures;

Knowledgeable about risk compliance and labor laws;

Ability to exercise good judgment in safeguarding and disseminating confidential or sensitive personnel information;

Working knowledge of the Workers’ Compensation Act and corresponding administrative rules and regulations;

Working knowledge of the statutes and regulations relating to unemployment compensation;

Experience working in a fast paced work environment;

Strong demonstration of urgency and ownership to drive issues to completion;

Demonstrate the ability to prioritize workload and develop an organized plan of processing and follow through;

Ability to collaborate effectively with all employees from varies levels within the organization;

Strong work ethic with commitment to high performance, quality and service excellence;

Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Demonstrated ability to manage a variety of assignments simultaneously; and

Advanced proficiency in computerized business applications, including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Kronos.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Management, or other related field from a recognized institution of higher education.

Three (3) years of progressively responsible administrative experience in a human resources office;

Two (2) years of workers compensation experience;
